Who It's For

IS THIS
RIGHT FOR
YOUR DOG?

Board & Train is the most intensive training programme we offer. Your dog comes to stay with us — living as part of the household — and receives structured daily training sessions throughout their stay.

The immersive nature of the programme accelerates progress significantly. Instead of one session a week, your dog is being handled, trained, and shaped every single day by a certified professional. Habits form faster, behaviours become consistent, and complex issues that would take months in weekly sessions can shift in weeks.

It's not a magic fix — and it's not a drop-off-and-forget service. A full handover session at the end of every programme ensures you understand exactly what's been worked on and how to maintain it at home. Follow-up private sessions are available to keep momentum going.

  • Dogs with significant reactivity, aggression, or fear-based behaviour that's impacting daily life
  • Busy households that don't have the time or capacity for regular weekly training sessions right now
  • Owners who want accelerated results — particularly before a new baby, a move, or a change in circumstances
  • Dogs that have been through other training programmes without lasting results
  • Complex multi-layered behaviour issues that need intensive, consistent work to address properly
  • Anyone who wants the most focused, immersive start possible for their dog
What's Included

EVERYTHING
IN THE PROGRAMME

🏠
Full Board & Care

Your dog lives with us — sleeping indoors, integrated into daily routines, fed a quality diet. This isn't a kennel. It's a home environment where training happens naturally throughout the day.

🎯
Daily Training Sessions

Structured training every day with clear goals, progressive difficulty, and consistent handling. Each session builds on the last — no wasted days, no starting from scratch.

🐾
Real-World Exposure

Daily walks and outings in Newcastle's streets, parks, and public spaces. Your dog doesn't just learn in a backyard — they learn to behave in the environments that actually matter.

📱
Regular Progress Updates

We send regular updates with photos and notes so you can follow along with your dog's progress. You're never in the dark about what's happening or how your dog is going.

📋
Written Training Report

A full written report at the end of the programme — what was worked on, what was achieved, what still needs attention at home, and a maintenance plan going forward.

🤝
Full Handover Session

A dedicated session with you at the end of the programme — we walk you through everything your dog has learned, demonstrate what's been worked on, and make sure you can maintain and build on the results at home.

The Handover

RESULTS THAT
GO HOME
WITH YOU

The single biggest failure point in Board & Train programmes is the handover. Dog comes home transformed, owner doesn't know how to maintain it, things slowly unravel over the following weeks. We've seen it — and we've built the programme to prevent it.

Every Board & Train ends with a dedicated handover session. We go through everything your dog has learned, demonstrate it in front of you, put the lead in your hands, and coach you through it. You leave knowing exactly what your dog can do and exactly how to keep it going.

Follow-up private sessions are available for owners who want additional coaching after the programme — particularly recommended for dogs with reactivity or anxiety where ongoing owner education makes a significant difference.

Questions

COMMON
QUESTIONS

Your dog lives in our home — not a kennel or a facility. They sleep indoors, integrate into the household routine, and receive training throughout the day in that natural, domestic context. This is intentional: a home environment is where your dog needs to behave, so that's where we train.
It's normal to worry. Most dogs settle within 24–48 hours once they establish a routine. We send regular updates with photos so you can see how your dog is going. Dogs are often more adaptable than their owners expect — particularly when they're in a structured, calm environment with clear expectations.
We assess every dog individually before accepting them into a Board & Train programme. Some aggression cases are well-suited to residential training; others are better addressed through private sessions first. We'll be honest with you about which approach is right for your dog — we won't take a placement that isn't appropriate.
We generally recommend against visits during the first week, as they can disrupt the dog's settling process and make it harder for them to focus on the training. We'll keep you regularly updated with photos and progress notes throughout. In special circumstances, we can discuss a mid-programme check-in.
That depends significantly on how consistently you apply what you learn in the handover session. Training doesn't live in the dog — it lives in the relationship between the dog and the handler. The handover session is designed to give you everything you need to maintain the results. Follow-up private sessions are available for owners who want continued support.
Board & Train availability is limited — we only run one dog at a time to ensure quality and focus. We'd recommend enquiring at least 3–4 weeks in advance, particularly for the 2-week programme. Get in touch early to check availability and discuss your dog's needs.

"Our GSD came back and we were genuinely shocked. More settled, actually listens. Whatever happened in those two weeks, it worked."

"Honestly we were close to giving up. Two weeks later we had a dog we could manage. The handover at the end made sure we didn't undo everything in the first week home."

"The updates throughout really helped — I was nervous leaving her. Knowing what was happening each day made a big difference. Really happy with how she's come along."
