Who It's For

IS THIS
RIGHT FOR
YOUR DOG?

Walk & Train is built around one simple idea — training should happen where the problems actually occur. Not in a controlled backyard or a quiet hall, but out on the footpath where the other dogs, bikes, kids and distractions are.

Your trainer picks up your dog and takes them for a structured 60-minute training walk. Every walk has a focus — whether that's loose lead work, building focus around triggers, practising recalls, or general on-lead manners.

It's ideal for busy owners who want consistent professional input without needing to be present for every session. Progress notes are sent after each walk so you always know what was covered and what to reinforce at home.

  • Dogs that pull hard on lead and make walks unpleasant or unmanageable
  • Leash reactivity toward other dogs, people, or moving objects
  • Owners who want consistent training sessions but have limited availability
  • Dogs who need more exercise and mental stimulation than they're currently getting
  • A great add-on alongside private sessions to accelerate progress between appointments
  • Dogs who are generally well-behaved at home but struggle the moment they hit the street
How It Works

SIMPLE
PROCESS

01
Initial Consult

We start with a brief meet-and-greet to understand your dog's history, current challenges, and what you want to achieve. This shapes the focus of every walk that follows.

02
Trainer Picks Up

Your trainer collects your dog at the agreed time. No need for you to be home — we can coordinate key arrangements. Your dog leaves for a structured, purposeful training walk.

03
45-Minute Session

Every walk has a clear training focus. We work on what matters most — reactivity, lead manners, focus, or whatever your dog needs most in that moment. Real streets, real distractions, real progress.

04
Progress Notes Sent

After every session you'll receive a written update — what was worked on, how your dog responded, and what to practise at home to reinforce the session. You're always in the loop.

Why It Works

TRAINING
WHERE IT
MATTERS

Most dog training happens in controlled, low-distraction environments. The problem is, your dog's behaviour problems don't happen in controlled environments — they happen on Tuesday morning when another dog rounds the corner.

Walk & Train puts the work directly into the context where it's needed. Your dog learns to stay focused, walk calmly, and respond reliably in the real world — because that's exactly where we're training.

Questions

COMMON
QUESTIONS

No. We can arrange key collection or a lockbox so sessions can happen while you're at work or out for the day. A brief meet-and-greet before your first session is all we need — after that, sessions run independently.
Typically in your local area — the streets, parks, and paths your dog actually uses. If your dog has a specific trigger environment (a busy road, a particular park), we can target those directly. The goal is always to train where the problems are.
It depends on what you're dealing with. For general leash manners and on-lead behaviour in an otherwise settled dog, Walk & Train on its own can be very effective. For reactivity, anxiety, or more complex behavioural issues, we'd recommend pairing it with private sessions — so the underlying behaviour is being addressed, not just managed on the lead.
No. Every Walk & Train session is individual — your dog and your trainer only. We don't do group walks. The whole point is focused, purposeful training tailored to your dog's specific needs.
For meaningful progress, once or twice a week is ideal. That gives your dog enough frequency to build habits without overwhelming them. We can work around your schedule and adjust as needed.

WHAT CLIENTS
ARE SAYING

★★★★★

"Two kids, full-time job — I just can't always be there for sessions. This worked perfectly for us. Dog's come on heaps and I barely had to rearrange anything."

"The walk and train sessions are brilliant because it's real life — not a hall, not a controlled space. She was practising in the actual places she used to lose it."

"Three sessions and the pulling is basically gone. We do our evening walks now and it's actually enjoyable. No idea why we didn't do this sooner."
